“Uzembe”: King Kalala Tells Off Boina Over Gifts as Love Language

King Kalala said gifts as love language should be reciprocated/ courtesy.
Prudence Chepkirui Tonui, also known as King Kalala, has criticised Boina, a digital content, over love language opinion.
In their exclusive talk, Boina revealed her love language as gift giving, which King Kalala termed laziness and dependency.
King Kalala said gift-giving can’t be someone’s love language in a place where there’s no reciprocation. She claimed Boina is biased since she only expects gifts without anything in return.

“How can gift-giving be your love language? Kununuliwa gari ndio kuonyesha unapendwa? So, mzazi wako asipokununulia gari hakupendi?” King Kalala asked Boina.
Further, the former NRG Radio presenter shared that most people who claim gift-giving is their love language ask more than what they can’t give back.
“Hiyo ni uzembe. Wewe ni mzembe. You want to sit at home, then me running around being your errand? Wewe kazi yako ni ku receive, mbona hugive hizi gifts? Ama ni one way? Let’s not lie, we’re women in this Nairobi.” She said.

King Kalala analysed that people who tend to say gift-giving is their love language should be able to reciprocate the same energy and gift they received.
She told Boina that the world of capitalism needs factual reciprocity and not dependency. She advised her that if she’s given a car and she isn’t able to reciprocate with a car, she should reject the gift.
“Hakuna cha kila mtu ku gift according na mfuko wake. If I buy you a Range Rover, buy me the same thing but kama hu give back the same thing, kataa hiyo gift!” Kalala advised.
