Betty Kyalo’s sister Mercy Kyalo has shared her scary encounter with the CID, saying it was one of the most unforgettable moments of her life. She talked about being caught up with the Flying Squad, a special unit in the DCI. The experience is something she won’t forget.
“I once got caught by the Flying Squad. Maybe that’s why I’m here, I survived. It’s crazy because someone sent me money, and they were on the run from the police. They were wanted,” she said.
Mercy explained that she got involved with the Flying Squad unknowingly when someone sent her money for something innocent. But the person who sent it was being looked for by the police, so her getting the money made her part of their investigation.
For 24 hours, Mercy was stuck in a car with the Flying Squad, facing tough questions about the people they were after.

“They sent me the money innocently. It was for something simple. But the Flying Squad found out where the money was going and came for me. I was in that car for 24 hours until I answered some questions. It’s the craziest thing that’s happened to me,” she said.
The questioning was intense, and Mercy Kyalo felt scared and unsure because the investigators’ moods kept changing.
“I was in the investigation room. They asked me, ‘where are they?’ And these guys, they keep changing how they act. One minute they’re nice, the next they’re not. Never want to be in those investigations. I didn’t know anything, but I felt like I had to tell them everything. It’s a strange story for me,” she said in an interview with Phil Karanja.

Even though it felt like something from a movie, Mercy stayed strong and insisted she was innocent, even though she didn’t have much information.
“For the first time, I had to stand up for myself in a crazy way. It was like I was in a movie,” she said.
Mercy Kaylo said the whole experience was surreal, like something she never thought would happen to her, where she had to face tough situations and defend herself in ways she never imagined.
