Ababu Namwamba Gifts Topless Athlete Milka With Running Kits, Shopping And KSh 200k
Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports CS Ababu Namwamba has appreciated a 20-year-old athlete, Milka Shikokoti Menjo for her zeal during the Tindiret Barng’etunyi Mountain Run early this year.Milka recently made headlines after she was captured running topless during the race which took place in Tinderet, Nandi County.
Touched by her expression of love for athletics, Ababu Namwamba visited the young athlete at her Cherindo home in Tinderet bearing gifts.

Gifts And Goodies
Ababu dropped his privileges as a top government official, albeit briefly and braved the chilly weather and tough terrain to meet young Milka and assure her of support from his ministry. According to the CS who was hosted by the area MP Hon. Julius Melly, he was moved by Milka’s determination and zeal to conquer the 15-kilometer race, running without a top and shoes.Ababu surprised the athlete and her husband with a full training kit, sports shoes, shopping and a cash token of KSh 200,000.
While addressing area residents, the politician assured the athlete and others that his ministry with assistance from the government will continue to support the Barngetunyi mountain run.
“Milka’s display was a true demonstration of resilience & determination from a young Kenyan determined to earn a living……Na kwa vile alijituma nasi pia tumeona tumshike mkono.” Ababu said.

Kenya Kwanza With Youths
Ababu further noted that the government will keep introducing new avenues through which youths can benefit financially and even skill-wise.
“We supported the mountain run and it was an incredible marathon. We have decided to turn this run into an international Marathon because it is a unique and special marathon. The Kenya Kwanza Government has brought new things that have never been seen before and one of those new things is #Talantahela, which has brought #PesaMfukoni to our talented youth.” He added.
Many online lauded him for encouraging and motivating athletes and creatives cheered the CS’s move.Ababu’s ministry has in the recent past allowed countless Kenyan youths to make a living through their different talents.
