Powerful Leaders Supporting CS Ababu Namwamba at The Youth Connekt Africa Summit

Youth Connekt aims to spotlight youth leadership and innovation for Africa’s integration

Kenya is currently hosting a number of powerful youthful leaders who are attending the sixth edition of the Youth Connekt Africa Summit held at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC).

 

Mideyah Digital understands over four influential leaders from different countries across Africa attended the official launch of the Youth Connekt Africa Summit on Saturday, December 8, to support one of their friend and continental colleague, Sports and Youth Affairs CS Ababu Namwamba.

 

Lesotho’s Prime Minister Sam Matekane and Rwanda’s Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Rosemary Mbabazi are some of CS Ababu Namwamba’s friends who graced the opening ceremony.

The summit which will be going on until Wednesday, December 13, also saw the attendance of top local leaders, among them President William Ruto.

 

The president was accompanied by his deputy Rigathi Gachagua, Second Lady Dorcas Rigathi, Sports and Youth Affairs Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ababu Namwamba and Council of Governors (COG) chairperson Anne Waiguru.

 

During his speech at the Youth Connekt Africa Summit, President William Ruto  urged  African youths to become champions of environmental stewardship, foster innovative practices that protect the planet while ensuring sustainable livelihoods for future generations.

 

President William Ruto reiterated that youths should get into renewable energy sector, promote sustainable agriculture and develop climate-resilient infrastructure.

The Youth Connekt Africa Summit (YCS) has brought together over 20,000 youths, government officials, corporate leaders and development champions from all over the continent.

 

YouthConnekt Africa Summit is the official instrument for mobilising young people to take part in the transformation of African youth by implementing the Youth Charter as agreed upon by African states.

 

The five-day summit that will run from December 8 to December 13 aims to spotlight youth leadership and innovation for Africa’s integration through policy discussions, storytelling and networking.
