Eric Marcelo Ouma Lands a Lucrative Deal
Harambee Stars left back Eric Ouma Otieno alias ‘Marcelo’ has signed for Poland side Rakow Czestochowa for a three-year contract with an option for further year with the Polish Champions.
Eric Ouma signed from AIK of Sweden as they avoided to lose the Kenyan veteran defender on a free transfer as his contract was due run out this summer.
Ouma had attracted interest from some of the best clubs in Europe including La Liga side Espanyol, but Rakow’s offer was too good for the Kenyan international to turn down with AIK’s valuation for the player having been met by Rakow Czestochowa, with 30% of the money set to go to Eric Ouma’s former club IF Vasalunds.

Eric OumaHarambee’s move to Rakow Czestochowa makes him the highest earner at the club as the club’s highest earner has been German midfielder Sonny Kittel with the weekly salary of £7,600 Approximately Ksh. 1.5M.
He will be taking home £8,000 Approximately Ksh. 1.6M every week excluding bonuses.

Rakow are currently holding fourth in the 18-team Poland top-flight league with 32 points just six behind the league leaders Jagiellonia having played one game less. Rakow was in Group D of the 2023/24 UEFA Europa League season where they finished in the last position in their Group with only 4 points in a group that had Atalanta, Sporting Lisbon, and Sturm Graz.
Rakow’s new man is expected to join the team early before their next game against Ludogorets on 27th January 2024 in what will be a club-friendly game.
