Cristiano Ronaldo Named As Google's Most Searched Athlete

Legendary Portuguese Forward Cristiano Ronaldo was named as the most searched athlete in Google for the past 25 years.

 

Ronaldo started his football career at his boyhood club Sporting CP before signing for Manchester United in 2003 where he won FA Cup on his first season.

 

Ronaldo who plays for Saudi Pro League’s side Al-Nassr after exiting Manchester early January this year after doing a controversial interview with English journalist Piers Morgan, revealed many things concerning the club and the management leading to his contract termination.

Cristiano is widely regarded as one of the Greatest players of all time, he made history with Manchester United when he won his first Ballon d’Or award back in 2008 at the age of 23  where he went on to win 5 Ballon d’Ors in total.

 

Since winning the Ballon D’Or with Manchester United, no other Premier League player has ever won the Ballon d’Or award.

 

In 2009, Cristiano left Manchester United for Spanish giants Real Madrid. At that time, it was the most expensive football transfer.

 

Ronaldo spent 9 years at Santiago Bernabéu where he made 438 appearances scoring 450 goals winning two LaLiga titles and 4 Champions League trophies.

 

He left the club in 2018 to join Italian giants Juventus where he spent 3 seasons  winning Serie A title on his first season and the following season consecutively.

Ronaldo left Juventus in the summer of 2021 making his historical return to Manchester United which did not turn out the way he expected.

 

Yesterday, Google revealed the list of most searched personalities on the site. Cristiano was named as MOST searched athlete for the past two and half decades. Ronaldo is the Most followed Human being on Instagram with over 600 million followers.
