‘Bobi Wine, The People’s President’ Wins Best Non-Fiction Film

Bobi Wine’s recently premiered documentary dubbed “Bobi Wine: The People’s President” has been awarded the ‘best nonfiction film of 2023’ at the 39th International Documentary Association’s (IDA) Documentary Awards.
International Documentary Association, founded in 1982, is a non-profit 501 that promotes nonfiction filmmakers, and is dedicated to increasing public awareness for the documentary genre and this year’s edition of the awards were handed out in a virtual ceremony hosted on Tuesday.

The documentary directors Moses Bwayo and Christopher Sharp perfectly put together Bobi Wine’s political journey as he challenged President Yoweri Museveni’s leadership in the recent elections.
Bwayo quoted IDA’s congratulatory message to Bobi Wine, expressing his appreciation to everyone involved in the making of the documentary and the entire awarding association.
