Man Sent To Prison For Stealing Meat

Buganda Road Court has remanded a 30 year old Sserwadda Issa over the theft of 15 kilograms of meat.

 

The suspect also a resident of Makindye Kirundu zone appeared before Kyoshabire Caroline, the Grade One Magistrate and denied the two counts of theft and shop breaking slapped against him.

 

According to prosecution, on 28th November, 2023 in Muzaana Zone, Kampala Central, the suspect broke into a butcher belonging to one Ssembatya Kato and stole the 15 kilograms valued at around Ugsh. 220,000.

He will return to court on the 20th December , 2023 for trial.

 

Still in the same court,a security guard was  sent on remand after he allegedly stole saucepans together with other items belonging to his employer at Ledos Junior School.

 

The 23-year-old Benson Mumbere in the company of other people on the 28th  October 2023 stole 42 plastic chairs, 11 saucepans, charcoal stoves and 33 pairs of shoes all estimated to be worth Ugsh. 3.5 million.

He however denied the said charge and was remanded until the 20th December 2023  when he returns to court for trial.
