BBC Journalist Apologises For Flashing Middle Finger On Live Broadcast

BBC journalist has apologised to fans after her ‘silly joke’ of flashing middle finger on live broadcast went viral.

 

Maryam Moshiri a London based BBC journalist went viral on Wednesday after a video clip surfaced online showing her flashing the middle finger.

 

She alleges that it was never a serious issue but a joke she was making to show directors during the countdown before going live.

When making the ‘silly joke’, Maryam alleged that she never knew she show had gone on air when the crazy incident happened.

 

Hey everyone, yesterday just before the top of the hour, I was joking around a bit with the team in the gallery.”

 

“I was pretending to count down as the director was counting me down from 10-0… including the fingers to show the number,” she revealed on Thursday morning.

Moshiri in her apology, further alleged her joke was private and never meant to garner such criticism from members of the public.

 

It was a private joke with the team and I’m so sorry it went out on air! It was not my intention for this to happen and I’m sorry if I offended or upset anyone.

 

” I wasn’t ‘flipping the bird’ at viewers or even a person really. It was a silly joke that was meant for a small number of my mates.” she revealed.

Following her ‘err’ on live broadcast, BBC management is yet to speak up over the matter.

 

Moshiri is a lead chief program journalist at BBC living in London.
