University Administrator Allegedly Defiles Blind Teenager
Police are investigating the allegations against a Kyambogo University administrator accused of defiling a blind 16- year-old girl.
The teenager whose name has been withheld revealed that Dr. Lawrence Aaron, in charge of an association for the disabled sexually assaulted her last month.
It is said that Dr. Lawrence was chosen to lead the group of disabled children for a meeting in Kenya last month and while they were coming back, he decided to drop all the children to their homes and stayed with the victim in his car because he had to drop her at her parents home in Namugongo.
“I asked for water because i was thirsty but I blacked out after taking the water he had given me to drink,” she said.
When she woke up, she knew something was wrong because she found herself in the backseat of the car.
“He handed me the morning after pill and when I asked why he was giving it to me, he only said it would work for me within 72 hours,” she said.
The perpetrator went ahead to caution from telling anyone because he would kill her and her family or anyone she ever disclosed the truth to. When the situation got worse, she decided to talk to her teacher who took her to police.
“It was so hard for me to talk to her because I thought she wouldn’t believe me. I was also scared because he said he would harm us,” she said.
The KMP deputy police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire revealed that the police was looking into the file again to get a clear picture about the case because the medical report had confirmed that the victim had been violated.
The victim is seeking for justice and wants her abuser to pay for what he did to her.
“At least they should arrest him and put him behind bars as they investigate,” she pleaded.
The father of the victim revealed that he had been following up the case and to his surprise the culprit was released on police bond.
“The police medical examination report clearly shows that there was a forceful penetration and injury. This is enough to take this man for the call. I’m worried that things will be compromised,” he said.
The organization that fights for the rights of the blind, Uganda National Association of the Blind vowed to follow the case.
“We will not stop until that administrator is punished for what he did,” Francis Kinobe, the president of the association revealed.
