Doctor Sentenced To 30 Years For Murder Of His Girlfriend
Today Judge Stanley Kaweesa from Mukono High Court has sentenced Dr. Kirabo Mathew to 30 years in prison for the murder of girlfriend Desire Mirembe.
In July 2015, it was reported that Mirembe, a student at Makerere University left her hostel to go meet her boyfriend, Kirabo but never returned. He was reported missing until her dead body was recovered dumped at Kabubu Village, Buikwe district on 17th July 2015.
Kilifi Pastor Arrested Over Defiling Minor
Kirabo fled the country but on 30th May, 2022, Judge Isabirye Kawesa of Mukono High Court convicted him in absentia of murder of Mirembe.
After a year of hiding, Dr. Kirabo was arrested by Interpol on 13th September, 2023, in Nairobi, where he had been staying and handed over to Ugandan authorities on 15th September.
According to prosecution, after the couple had a misunderstanding, Kirabo sedated Mirembe, then killed and dumped her lifeless body in the plantation on 10th July, 2015 where it was discovered.

He was convicted of murder after the prosecution presented incriminating evidence against him.
