Man Killed Over Stolen Chapati Table
Police in Soroti East Division together with East Kyoga are actively hunting for a group of men accused of torturing and killing a fellow man over allegations of theft.
The group consisting of four suspects, are all chapati sellers and residents of Asinge Cell, Madera Ward, Soroti East Division. They are said to have murdered a one Musa Opio who they claimed was found with a table stolen to one of them.

On 10th November, 2023, Rafael, Otim, Oparo and Busulwa dragged the victim into an eucalyptus forest located between Madera and Compswahili and beat him up so bad. They then dragged him to the trading center where they continued beating him.
The police responded and rushed Opio to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

“Although these are murders arising out of petty crimes, as the police we shall investigate every murder and follow all reasonable leads to catch offenders,” Uganda Police spokesperson Fred Enanga vowed.
