Messi Beats Haaland To Win Ballon D’Or Award For The Eighth Time

Lionel Messi, Argentina and Inter Miami CF soccer star has won the world Ballon d’Or Award of the year flooring Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.
On Monday night in a ceremony carried out in France, former Barcelona legend was announced the winner of the award backed by leading his home team Argentina to win the world cup.
When receiving his present presented by former Manchester United star and Inter Miami Co-owner David Beckham, Messi could not hide his happiness to the multitude that graced the event.

“I couldn’t imagine having the career that I’ve had. Everything that I’ve achieved.
“The fortune I’ve had playing for the best team in the world, the best team in history. It’s nice to win these individual trophies
“To win the Copa America and then the World Cup, to get it done is amazing. All of them [Ballon d’Or awards] are special for different reasons” he disclosed.
Prior to receiving his award, the 36- year – old star celebrated the late Argentina star Diego Maradona as a person who hold the memory of many for astute prowess in football when he was in the field.

In MSL history, Messi has become the first Major Soccer League award winner in the world after emerging the winner for the eighth time; 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2019, 2021, 2023.
As the eighth Ballon d’Or winner, he has scored 11 goals in 14 games as an Inter Miami player in US.
