Joram van der Sloot Admits To Killing Natalee Holloway – Judge Says

Joram van der Sloot, 36, pleads guilty to killing Natalee Holloway, an American teenager, a confession that brings to an end the 18-year-old case.

Natalie Holloway, 18 then, disappeared on a senior high school class trip to Aruba in 2005 after leaving a bar with van der Sloot.

After Halloway went missing, suspicion fell on the then Dutch student who was among three people spotted leaving a nightclub with her in May 30, 2005.

He was arrested twice, but never charged with connection to the disappearance or death of the victim. She was declared legally dead in 2012 though no one has ever been charged in her killing.

He also pleaded guilty to extorting money from Beth Holloway, Natalee’s mother. A confession that connected him to the Holloway case.

“As far as I am concerned it’s over. It’s over. I’m satisfied knowing that he did it and he disposed of her alone. He is the killer. He described when and how he killed her.” Said Beth Holloway at a news conference after the hearing.

According to Justice Department van de sloot agreed to provide full, complete, accurate and truthful information in exchange for a 20-year sentence for charges of extortion and wire fraud.

Before his confession to the murder of Halloway, van der Sloot was serving a 28-year prison sentence in Peru for the murder of a 21-year-old student in 2010.

He was extracted from Peru to the US in June to face the extortion charges. He will be returning there to serve the 2010 murder as well as drug trafficking.
