Purity Mwambia: Left To Suffer?
Citizen TVs investigative journalist Purity Mwambia has made a confession that has left most sympathizing with her.
The journalist who once went undercover to cover how rogue officers hire out guns in a piece of story dubbed Guns Galore went into hiding and two years later, she claims to be on the verge of being homeless.
She alleges that the body that flew her to the US has since abandoned her and this makes her worried.
“Personally, I was brought here by an organisation, and they dropped me!Believe me, I am on the verge of being homeless because I don’t know what to do next.”
“Every day when I walk past a metro and I see all those homeless people, it is one of those stories that, as a journalist, I would have wished to tell but I now I’m just walking like literally I’m in their shoes, not knowing what will happen next to me,” Mwambia said while speaking on a US State Department forum.
The experience in exile she adds is in some way leading to a drain in her many years experience in the journalism field.
“You feel like 20 years of experience as a journalist has gone to waste,” she said.
Before fleeing, Mwambia states having received several threats after the Guns Galore expose was aired on Citizen TV.
