Nairobi City Stars Beat AFC Leopards In A Thrilling Match
Nairobi City Stars completed a comeback yesterday as they came from a goal down to beat AFC Leopards 2-1.
AFC Leopards got off to a strong start, and Victor Omune’s goal after 18 minutes gave them the lead. He sprinted after Washington Munene’s long pass before outmuscling his defender and slipping the ball between the keeper’s legs, giving the Leopards a halftime lead.
However, City Stars fought back in the second half, and Etemesi’s spectacular strike in the 65th minute equalized the score.
Prior to firing into the net’s roof, the forward controlled the ball within the area and turned away from his defender. They won the game in the 89th minute after Etemesi scored the winning goal and completed the turnaround.
Speaking after the game, City Stars coach Nicholas Muyoti was proud of his team.
“We gave a good fight, especially in the second half, and I am happy with the performance of the team. In the second leg, we have been doing very well, and it shows that the work we have put in behind the scenes has really been working and is now bearing fruit,” said Muyoti.
