President Ruto: Getting Promised Ksh. 300 Cooking Gas By June Is Impossible

President William Ruto has come out to defend himself against his earlier promised 6kg cooking gas which was anticipated to cost between Ksh. 300-500 by June this year.

During a joint media interview yesterday, the country’s head of state made it clear that achieving the promise by June will be “impossible”.

He noted that since we are in a country that follows the law, the waive must first be approved  in the budget and it was unfortunate because they didn’t succeed to pass it in the supplementary budget.

“We must first approve this in the budget. As of now, there is no way to waive the tax until a new budget is passed. June 1 is not possible until we pass it through Parliament,” Ruto said.

“If we had passed it through the supplementary budget, June would be possible. But we tried to and it was not possible because it would force us to change a certain law.”He added

Kenyans are however still on the waiting bench ready to know when this will become a reality to relieve them of the burdening high cost of living.
