Man Takes Family Back To In-Laws After Negative DNA Results
Residents in Kamuli were left shocked after a man carried his wife together with his two children back to back to his in-laws house following the DNA results that came out negative.
Kabitanya Semu a resident of Market Zone was forced to take his two children Byansi Morgan, 11, and Tikabula Natasha, 6, for the paternity test after suspecting his wife identified as Regina Nabirye of infidelity.
Semu together with the women leader Uganda Women Network Harriet Nabirye stood before his father in law to interpret the paternity results that came from MBA Laboratories, Jinja Branch.
It was then that he officially handed over the two children to their grandfather and denounced them from his clan. He also withdrew the clan names he had given to them since they belonged to his parents.
“I have protected and taken care of these children but they are not mine. I hereby return them without any harm,” he said.
The angry Kabitanya also recalled how his wife poisoned him and bragged about it with her lovers over the phone.
“She went out and on the phone she confirmed to her men that the deal was done. She chose to take me to hospital because she figured I would die in the house and she would be the number one suspect,” he narrated.
Amidst tears, the father in law Moses Bameka, apologized and thanked Kabitanya for returning his wife and children without any harm.
“I only have respect for him because he would have harmed them but he chose to return them to us in perfect health,” he said.
The residents called upon the government to avail compulsory DNA testing at hospitals upon the birth of every child to curb such incidences.
