Mother Poisons Her Two Children

A mother in Kiboga District has been arrested after allegedly poisoning her two children, killing one and the other one fighting for dear life in hospital.
The incident happened on 4th May, 2023 at their home in Nasuna Ccell, Kiboga Town Council as confirmed by Wamala Region Police spokesperson Kawala Racheal.
She revealed that the Nankunda Rahuma got into an argument with her husband only identified as Musis after he accused her of infidelity with a man he claimed impregnated her. She escalated the matter to her mother in law, Nantiba Harriet who later reported the matter to Kiboga police under the family and children protection unit.
Nankunda was then summoned and upon her turn up at the station, she met the mother of the alleged boyfriend. Having lied to her husband about the extra marital affair, Nankunda pretended to have gone to the nearby shop to buy drinks for her children and escaped the meeting.
It is said that she bought sodas together with the poisonous substance and locked herself and the children identified as 6-year-old Nassiwa Hanifah and her brother Lubulwa Sadick, 4 in the house where they all drank.
Musisi waited for his wife to return at the station but in vain. This prompted him to send his younger brother to his home to collect her but he found a locked house.
He tipped the local leaders and together with the residents, they broke down the door only to find the three in bad condition. They were rushed to Kiboga Hospital for first aid but unfortunately Nassiwa died at around 6:00 AM the following day.
The case was recorded at the station as a murder by poisoning and the police are waiting for Nankunda to recover so as she could answer for her crimes.
