AFC Leopards Laxity Lead To Draw Against KCB
AFC Leopards threw away a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 against KCB at an empty Kasarani stadium in the KPL.
As a result of the brawl that took place at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega one week prior, the Leopards played to an empty stadium for the first time this season.
Three minutes after kickoff, Peter Thiong gave the Leopards the lead with a shot. At the end of the first half, Victor Omune added the second goal for the Leopards, giving them a 2-0 advantage.
After only five minutes of the second half, Cliff Oruko’ s effort cut the Leopards lead in half. Francis Kahiro’s last-minute header earned KCB a point at Kasarani, as the Leopards appeared to be headed for victory.
After the game, AFC Leopards coach Patrick Aussems said they needed to close out games early.
“We need to get more serious. We can no longer afford to make simple mistakes, especially at this stage of the competition,Aussems fumed.
“We could have easily emerged from this match with maximum points, but we had a concentration lapse towards the end that proved costly.”He said.
