Motorist Crashed To Death by Trailer Along Nairobi-Mombasa Highway
A motorist aged 40 years was this morning crashed to death by a trailer along Nairobi-Mombasa Highway.
The deceased identified as Stephen Ngundo, died instantly after the trailer collided with his motorcycle around Green Park Gardens in Athi River, Machakos County.
Machakos County OCPD Joseph Ole Napeiyan confirmed the incident revealing that the deceased had just dropped a passenger at Green Park Gardens around 6.00 am before his untimely death.
“It occurred today at about 0600 hours at Green Park Gardens along Nairobi-Mombasa road. One driver namely Ezekiel Kamande was driving a motor vehicle, make Mercedes Benz prime mover/trailer from Mombasa general direction towards Nairobi general direction and on reaching at the location of the accident, he collided with the a motorcycle make Honda that was being ridden by one Stephen Ngundo aged 40 years.The rider made an abrupt U-turn after dropping a pillion passenger at Green Park Gardens area and hence collided with the said prime mover/trailer,” he said.
Napeiyan also revealed that police from Athi River processed the scene and Ngundo’s body was taken to Shalom Community Hospital Mortuary.
He also said that remains of the motor vehicles were towed to Athi River police station for inspection and that probe in to the fatal accident has commenced.
