Harry Maguire Gifts Sevilla Life Line In Europa League Title

Manchester United’s hope of advancing to the semi-final of the Europa League was hugely punctured after late two own goals against Sevilla at Old Trafford.

The match ended with a 2-2 draw in Thursday’s first leg.

Sevilla got a lifeline after a prone to error England national team captain Harry Maguire headed a fine goal to his own net in the 92nd minute.

The other united own goal was resulted by Netherlands youngster Tyrell Malancia in the 86th minute after deflecting Jesus Navas cross.

Erik ten Hag’s United are the favourites to win this season’s competition and they looked to be cruising towards the semifinals as they seized a two-goal first-half lead at Old Trafford courtesy of Marcel Sabitzer.

They then equalised in the second minute of added time when a Youssef En-Nesyri header went in via a big touch off Harry Maguire, who had come on for Varane.

A Sevilla side who have won the Europa League or its predecessor the Uefa Cup a record six times may now fancy their chances of winning the tie in next week’s return in Spain.

The spanish Club would now hope for a win or any a draw of of less than 2 goals.

“We conceded two own goals, bad luck, and we have to deal with it,” said Ten Hag. “We have to learn to kill the game, but still everything is open.”
