Raila : Police Killed During Protest Is My Grandson
Azimio la Umoja Leader Raila Odinga claims that officer who died after being run over by a police van during Azimio protests is his grandson.
Addressing the Azimio town hall meeting held at Ufungamano House in Nairobi,Odinga stated that he was behind Ben Oduor’s hiring into the Police Service.
“That young man who was knocked in Kisumu by a police vehicle is my grandson, his mother is my niece.I am actually the one who recruited him to the police,” Raila said.
The officer’s cause of death was earlier reported to have been caused by protestors who hit him with stones
However, witnesses who witnessed the Incident claim he was run over by a Police vehicle when he missed a step to board the vehicle as they were running away from angry protestors.
Until his demise, the officer was attached to Keroka police station in Nyamira county.
