Man jailed For Defiling Three Year Old

Police in Kasese District are holding in custody a man accused of defiling a three-year-old in Mukunyu Sub county, Bukonzo East Constituency.
The 23-year-old suspect whose identity has been withheld committed the crime in the same residency and according to Biira Maryanne, a child’s rights advocate, the toddler needs financial support to cover for her bills at Kagando Hospital and help transport her mother.
The accused is currently behind bars and Biira stated that the arrest was not enough if the toddler’s health is not urgently attended to and supported.
“I commend the Mukunyu Police for the support they gave the child. They were with her throughout the whole process. They left the hospital at 9:00 PM,” she noted.
Defilement under the Uganda Penal Code Act, is defined as unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of eighteen and is punishable by death.
