According to the bill, a person committing the offense of homosexuality is one holding out as a lesbian, gay, transgender, queer or any other sexual or gender identity that is contrary to the binary categories of male and female.

Despite the pressures from non-governmental stakeholders and human rights activists protecting homosexual suspects, Museven has firmly stood to show the interest in signing the anti-LGBTQ bill.

On Sunday, Museven urged African states to refute LGBTQ community practices in Africa by claiming they are against African cultures and traditions.

Africa should provide the lead to save the world from this degeneration and decadence which is really very dangerous for humanity. If people of opposite sex stop appreciating one another then how will the human race be propagated?” Yoweri Museveni told the public.

Museven further explained the stand of African cultures and ethics in relation to politics by claiming in way he could dare kiss his wife in public during campaigns, many would vote against him during elections.

If I kissed Janet in public, I will not win elections in Uganda. It shouldn’t even be done in the sitting room because children are there. Now here you are I am a homosexual, what are you trying to show?” Museveni added
