Man Chops Off High school Lover’s Hand Over Cheating Allegations
Police in Mpigi District are actively searching for a man who allegedly chopped off his lover’s right hand over cheating allegations.
Facts gathered indicate that on 31st March, 2023, the suspect identified as Bataringaya Paul, 30, waited for the victim, Musimirwe Mildred, 23 on her way from school and attacked her with a machete, chopping off her right hand.
While the suspect fled the scene, Musimirwe was rushed to Double Cure Hospital in Mpigi Town where she is currently receiving medical attention.
According to reports, the pair started their relationship while still in school in Ibanda. When she got pregnant, Musimire’s parents reportedly filed a defilement case at police, forcing the love birds to elope and relocate to Mpigi District where they started their new life in their rented room.
The relationship did not work out, forcing Mildred to reach out to her parents who helped her resume her studies at St. Mark Secondary School. Bataringaya also enrolled in the same school to be close to his estranged girlfriend.
Musimire was currently staying with a friend when the incident happened.
Tumushabe Lydia from Katonga Region Police revealed that the hunt for the suspect is still on and when found, he will face justice.
