Man Seeks To Divorce Wife Over Having An Affair With Gateman

Juliet Nalubega and her mother

A man has stood before court seeking to separate from his wife and mother of his children for allegedly having a secret relationship with their domestic worker.

The couple Phillip Sserwanja and Juliet Nalubega who have been together for 28 years appeared before Magistrate George Watyekere at Magistrate Court in Nsangi, Mpigi District to have their marital conflicts settled.

According to Sserwanja, his wife and mother to his five children, has been sneaking around with their gateman and security guard identified as Bantaliza Godfrey to a point that he got them red handed in their marital bedroom at 2:00 AM.

Sserwanja says he left his home because of his wife’s unfaithfulness and was forced to take her lover behind bars for disrespecting his boss. He also accuses her of spending the family fortune taking care of his lover and abandoning her responsibilities

“I want the court to give me justice. I do not even want her in my home because the moment he brought another man into our house, it was over,” Sserwanja said, also showing off a mobile phone he found in his bedroom that allegedly belongs to Bantaliza.

In her defense, Nalubega denied the allegations, stating that the husband was setting her up with the cheating accusations to tarnish her reputation and drive her away from the property they had worked hard to attain.

“At first he had abandoned us without support. I reported him to court and they told him to hand over two properties to help me raise money for my family. He is using my mistakes to take over the empire that we have worked hard for,” she said.

Nalubega says for a long time, her husband has threatened to embarrass her in public with false information and dragging her to court over cheating allegations did not come as a surprise.

Nalubega’s mother was by her side during the court hearing and called out her son in law for bringing the family issues in public.

“Parents should learn to sit at a round table and settle issues affecting them as a family instead of bringing them out here. This will bring divisions amongst the children,” she said.

The couple’s court hearing was postponed 12th April, 2023
