The High Court has declined to give an order stopping the nationwide Azimio protest.
In a case filed by Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko through his lawyers, the former City President argued that the protests have  affected businesses and caused a lot of disruptions in  the country.

 

Justice Hedwig Ongundi however  declined to issue orders to Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome to arrest the demonstrators or stop the demonstrations arguing that it is not within their jurisdiction to give such orders.

 

“It would therefore not be proper for these courts to appear to be setting out new regulations and policies which is not within its docket,” court noted
