Man Runs Back To His Father’s House Following Beatings From His Wife

A family man in Kayunga District, Uganda left residents astonished after he packed his bags and moved back to his father’s house following a fight with his wife.

George Wabwiire accuses his wife Beatrice Auma of torture, witchcraft, alcoholism disrespect and constantly beating him up. He says she has gone to an extent of openly practicing prostitution and dating other men while still married to him.

During the village meeting where Wabwiire had run to the local councils for help, he pulled out a note book where he had listed all the atrocities committed against him by his wife, also crying out to the authorities to help drive Auma out of his house.

“I went back to my father’s house and she warned me never to come back home because she was going to marry another man in our marital home. I want us to separate because one of us might hurt the other badly. Our children need us.” The sad Wabwiire told the locals.

In her defence, Auma defended her actions and accused her husband of abandoning his home and not fulfilling his responsibilities as a man of the house.

“He has never bought me anything, not even an undergarment. I work for my own clothes. I go out with other men because I need to fend for myself.” She said,

According to Wabwiire, his wife had been married to three other men before him but the unions did not work out because of her aggressiveness. He had agreed to settle with her alongside her older kids from the previous relationships but gave up when he learnt that Auma had three other men plus a young baby she gave birth to while still at Wabwiire’s home.

The disgruntled Wabwiire also recounts the day he caught his wife red handed making out with another man and when he tried to confront them, Auma beat him to pulp.

The local council representative on issues of families and children, Collins Kafeero sat with the lovers in a meeting in presence of the police representatives on family matters. He advised Auma to leave Wabwiire’s home and his children if she still wanted to get involved with other men.

In the same meeting, she apologized to her husband and promised to change her behavior because she still loved her husband and wanted their marriage to work.
