Man Apprehended For Killing One Year Old Baby For Money Rituals.
Police in Kasanje, Nakawuka are holding a man in custody accused of murdering a one year old baby in what seems to be money rituals.
It is reported that Joseph Adudu, 28, abducted the one year old Natasha Ainomusgisha from her grandparents’ home at the veranda where she was in company of her peers doing their school homework.
Adudu grabbed her in broad daylight and ran away with her through the gardens where she met her fate. He first denied the allegations and after thorough interrogations, he admitted to the crime and led the police to where they say the child was murdered from.
Among the accused is the father of the deceased who is said to have conspired with Adudu in the murder.
Among the exhibits found to pin Adudu to the crime scene is the machete used to kill the toddler plus fragments of his broken sunglasses that he wore on the day of the crime.
“My friends forced me into this but I regret and I’m asking for forgiveness. I killed her using a panga. We reached the main road when she was already dead and I threw the panga by the road side.” Adudu said.
Pastor Geoffrey Ssekabanja, the grandfather to the deceased, recalls that he heard the news of Natasha’s dead body being discovered by the roadside through the community radio.
The crime happened on Monday night and the body of the deceased was transported to Mulago Hospital for postmortem and buried days after.
