“I Will Be President of Uganda After My Father,” Declares Gen Muhoozi
President Yoweri Museveni’s son General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has officially declare that he will succeed his father as the president Uganda.
In a tweet that has sparked a debate amongst Ugandans, General Muhoozi said that those fighting the truth about him succeeding President Museveni will be very disappointed.
“I will be President of Uganda after my father. Those fighting the truth will be very disappointed!!! I will organise and make our country great as Almighty God always intended it to be !!!” Muhoozi tweeted.
This is not the fast time Mr Muhoozi is giving intention to vie for Ugandan presidency. He first signaled his desire to go public about his presidential ambitions during his 48th birthday celebrations.
The birthday celebrations at State House in Entebbe on April 24, 2022, which was attended by President Museveni and his Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame, left many talking especially on social media and were seen by many as an effort to make Muhoozi popular as he prepares the ground for presidential elections.
The former commander of the land forces of the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF), would later make a series of tweets about his intention to take the top seat.
“I consider President @KagutaMuseveni, and President @PaulKagame the best strategists that ever lived! When Team MK wins power in this country, which we will! Our first act will be to increase the Sports budget!” Muhoozi tweeted.
