Kayole Woman Drugs Husband, Steals From His MPESA
A Kayole woman has been taken to court for allegedly drugging husband, Francis Macharia Ndung’u, and stealing cash from him.
Ms Caroline Wangui Wanjiku was charged alongside her aunt Esther Wambui and uncle Peter Kariuki Mwaura.
The trio are said to have colluded in stealing money from Wangui’s husband on February 21.
Wangui reportedly had an argument with husband on February 20 before they retired to bed. However, the husband was shocked to wake up the following morning to find her wife missing leaving behind their child and house help.
He tried reaching him but she didn’t pick his calls. On checking his MPESA he found Kshs. 240,000 transferred to her wife’s number.
He later went to the hospital before proceeding to Kayole police station to report the incident.
“Police investigations established that Ms. Wangui, the wife, had transferred the cash to herself before sending some of the money to her aunt Wambui who transferred the cash to her husband Mr Mwaura. Mr Mwaura withdrew the cash at a hospital and deposited the same to Ms Wangui’s bank account on February 21. They were all traced and arrested by the police after investigations were concluded,” Nation reports
The trio denied charges pressed against them at Makadara law court and were released on a Ksh. 120,000 bond with a surety of similar amount or Ksh.100,000 cash bail each.
Ms Wangui was also solely charged with drugging in order to commit a felony as the trio are accused of jointly colluding to steal the money from Francis Macharia Ndung’u.
The case will be mentioned on May 9 before the hearing starts on October 24.
