Airtel Kenya Launches eSiM To Enable Its Customers Switch Network Operations At An Easier Rate


Airtel Kenya was on Thursday launched an eSIM a virtual SIM that enables the user to get seamless device set-up without the need to insert or replace a physical sim card.

 

The telecommunications company announced it’s new tech advance as away of providing quality services to its clients.

 

Today we are happy to launch eSIM (embedded SIM), a digital SIM that enables customers to access same functionality as someone using a physical SIM.

 

You no longer need to fear damaging or losing your SIM card, and if you are a frequent traveler, you will find the eSIM very convenient for switching network operators much easily” Airtel reported in a statement.

 

For a person willing to have access to Airtel eSIM, should now check the compatibility of his/her phone by dialing *#06# on the smartphone.

 

The device will display an eSIM identifier labelled as EID and then the will visit a nearby Airtel Agent with either a passport or Identity Card for verifications and update.

 

Thereafter, the person will scan the QR Code, download the eSIM application for settings. Upon successful eSIM settings the eSIM will now be available in his/her smartphone for Airtel use.

 

Why Need an eSIM? 

Airtel Kenya eSIM allows one to use multiple mobile numbers both physical and eSIM on one mobile phone or device.

 

More so, an eSIM reduces the hassle of one moving around with several phones and no longer need one to fear damaging or losing the Sim card.

 

For frequent travellers, eSIM will be more convenient for switching network operators at a much easier rate.
