Anti- LGBTQ Campaigns Starts In Uganda To Tame The Rising Vice In The Society
Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) communications have staged an anti-homosexual campaign in Uganda to beat the weird rising cases of LGBTQ among the teens and the youth.
In a letter previously dated on 11th February, 2023, UMSC requested all leaders to have sermons on the fight against homosexuality on 24th, February 2023.
” The council requests all Muslim leaders to have their sermons on the fight against the vice on radios and television teachings, peaceful walks through towns with placards and issue a press statement against homosexuality” reads part of the letter.
Last month, Church of Uganda isolated itself from the Church of England act to endorse same sex relationship in its church doctrines.
In line with Uganda’s traditions and customs, LGBTQ is nontraditional and an abomination to their culture as far as religion is concerned.
The wake to fight against homosexuality was instigated by the Inter- Religious Council of Uganda last month after a concern raised about the increasing promotion of LGBTQ among teens and the youth especially students.
This intrigued UMSC to join the religious community in fight against homosexuality in Uganda.
” The whole generation of prophet Lut was put to stop by Allah when people did not accept that Lut was saying the right thing of not practicing homosexuality,” Dr Kiggundu said in line with Quran’s teachings.
Moreover, Dr. Kiggundu explained that the Quran, labels homosexuality abomination and religious leaders and government authorities should unite in fight against the vice.
“As religious leaders, we cannot do this alone. Government authorities should come out and support schools to fight against the vice because we have realised that homosexuality agents are targeting the young generation.
“There must be routine check-ups in the schools by the administration, and teachers should take up like five minutes to talk about the evil of homosexuality, which is taking out humanity,” he added.
President Museven early this month issued a stern press release warning individuals found to be members of LGBTQ to be imprisoned and face life sentence in prison.
Currently, ant-LGBTQ peaceful campaign are being done in Uganda via media especially radios and television as away of promoting sanity in the society.
