In her TikTok video post, the woman say the exact reporting time at her then work place was 8:30am but she came late by two minutes.

Merzog who lives not far from now her former company say, the distance used to take her 20 minutes but on Friday after getting out of her house, she discovered on her way to have forgotten a phone in the house.

This forced her to make a U-turn and pick a phone which let her arrive at her new work place two minutes late.

” So I started a new job on Wednesday and on Friday, I had really liked the place and it was only 20 minutes away.

“After arriving at work, my boss looked at me and said, ‘you can’t be late in your first week, you’re fired.

“He wasn’t joking and fired me. I’m angry, shocked and hurt because that’s not who I am and I’m really trying.

“No one gave me a heads-up like hey your first week is really strict.

“If anyone has any words of encouragement, kindly I’m really struggling right now. Let me have them” Merzog narrates.

In response to her request to get pieces of advice, a few have laid blame on the boss, others claiming the work wasn’t meant for her but many, behaving as social media users made fun of the situation.

Carol Burtson: I remember starting a training course for a new job, and one girl turned up late for the first days training. The sales director who was taking the course let it go for the first day, but when she was late the second day, he marched her out of the room and told her to go home, and she would not very required to attend again.

Dixie Parker: Y’all are trifling. Two minutes is nothing. I’ve been late for some stupid reasons. I live in the country and I was off to work and there was a COW in the road. I couldn’t physically move the cow. I had to wait for it to move. I do leave a bit early for reasons like that. There’s always road work going on where I used to live and no matter how early I left, there would always be something physically stopping me from being able to drive, it’s two fu***n minutes. Get over it.

Jeanne McCormick: New job be at least 15 minutes early an always be 15 minutes early. I lived I mile from work an was always 15- 20 minutes early for ten yrs. Was never late. When I lived 60 miles I was not late . I cannot stand someone being late all the time I am always early.

Silvia Tanti: My father taught me to respect my employer. I’m there to work for the firm and be paid for 8 hours work a day. No slacking off, there to work. I lived by that and throughout my working life was more often than not always offered jobs without having to apply for them.

Eddie Seifert: OMG NO WAY!! I mean everyone is always late to their jobs. Being late shows that you value your job and respect the people you work with. I’m sure your boss lacks people skills or just didn’t like you.. it’s definitely all your bosses fault… you should sue: 🤨

Amber Boyer: Two days in and you can’t be bothered to show up on time any employer would have fired you
