Harambee Stars To Play Burundi In International Friendly In March

Kenya National Soccer Team Harambee Stars will play two friendlies against The Swallows of Burundi in March 2023.

 

Harambee Stars, who are coming back from international football after FIFA suspension, will play Burundi first leg on March 25th and second leg on 28th 2023. Both match will be played in Nairobi.

 

According toFKF CEO Barry Otieno, the return of the team was a positive development for the country.

 

“Football is coming back from a very difficult period. We have missed big opportunities for both men and women.  These friendlies are the first step in rebuilding the team and getting us ready for competitive international football.”

 

National team Coach Engin Firat said the friendlies will develop the team.

 

“It is important to keep the team engaged, to keep working so that we are able to play at a good level when we return.”

 

Firat is expecting to Name his squad on or before March. The players will enter camp on the 17th of March, 2023.

Former harambee star Captain Victor Wanyama, Who had announced his retirement from international duties, has express his intension to return to the team.
