Shock As 10-year Old is Gang Raped,Murdered

Police in Uganda are investigating the circumstances under which a 10 year old pupil of Kiteezi C/U primary school was kidnapped, gang raped and murdered in Wakiso District.
It is reported that Mbabazi Ruth, a resident of Kabaganda Zone, Kiteezi Parish disappeared from her home on the 4th of February at 5PM to an unknown place. Immediately they realized that the 10 year old was missing, her relatives launched a search party for her which was unsuccessful.
Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesman Luke Owyesigyire confirmed the news in a press conference recounting how the dead body of the juvenile was discovered dumped in a garden.
“At 1 PM, we received information that there was a dead body that had been dumped in a cassava plantation by unknown persons,” he said.
In the report, Luke states that when police arrived at the scene, they noticed that dead body had a lot of blood stains, cuts on her face and bruises all over her body.
“It is suspected that the deceased was sexually assaulted and later on strangled to death.” Luke said.
The body of the deceased has been taken to the city mortuary in Mulago.
As police continue with the investigations into the matter, they state that they currently have no leads to the people behind such gruesome acts.
Luke further called upon parents to be vigilant and inform local leaders the moment they notice suspicious activities within their area.
“We are calling upon parents to remain vigilant because there is suspicion that the deceased was kidnapped first, sexually assaulted and later on beaten to death because she had a lot of bruises on the body.” He said.
