Manhunt For Robbery With Violence Suspect Who Dared Call His Victim
Makupa police officers are hunting two men who violently robbed Francis Weru a mobile phone and Ksh 67, 000 on Tuesday in Sabasaba area, Mombasa County.
The suspects violently held hostage the victim Weru for 15 minutes by threats of stabbing him with a knife and forced him to transfer Ksh 67, 000 to one of the suspects’ Mpesa before disappearing with the money and a mobile phone.
The matter which was reported at Majengo Police Post under OB NO. 16/02/01/2023, Weru was referred to Makupa Police Station where the manhunt process started.
According to Weru after being robbed, he went the following day and renewed a sim card which one of the victim who robbed him, bravely called him.
“I know you do not know me, however we are the ones who robbed you on Tuesday, and all I want is to help you, my friend never shared anything from the money we robbed you and he sent the money to his other number just find a way of looking for him am sending you the number he is currently using,” he said before ending the call.
Is alleged the suspects didn’t share the robbed money between the two but rather one suspect who had the money in his phone disappeared with them.
Additionally, the caller suspect didn’t however disclose to Weru how much they were supposed to share but promised to send Weru the active number of the suspect which according to Weru, he sent.
Moreover, Weru’s trials to know the exact place the victim was, went futile as the caller suspect never disclosed.
After being referred to Makupa Police Station, Weru say the police officer in charge demanded Ksh 2,000 for fueling though not via Mpesa but cash.
He allege that he withdrew the money at an Mpesa shop around Makupa Police Station and gave the police officer to start the manhunt which as things stand, none of the two suspects has been handcuffed.
