“Stop it!” Client Asks Safaricom To Stop Invading His Screen

Samuel Karanja took to Safaricom timeline to complain and request the Company to stop a screen Pop-up notifying its clients that they have run out of data even when they are using wifi.

The notification he terms as screen invasion he says forces him to restart his phone.

The company answered Karanja by requesting him to switch off data whenever he is using WI-FI

“Hi, sorry Samuel. When using WiFi, make sure your mobile data is off. You can also select “Go to Free” when you do not have data bundles or Wifi and immediately select “See Photos” button once you have data or WiFi to avoid the prompts,” the company answered.

However, Samuel said he doesn’t have to switch off his data and simply requested the company to stop the notification.

“Simply stop invading my screen. I have the freedom to use wifi while my data is still on!He replied

Journalist Fredrick Muitiriri who terms the notification as a nuisance also urged the company to just stop issuing the pop-up notification instead 0f asking clients to switch off their data.

“This thing is such a nuisance!I don’t have to turn off my data, no. It’s my phone. Just stop it. I really hate it too,” the Journalist wrote
