As others were born, to him he was delivered. Here when I am scribbling one or two, a modulated sing-song tone is piercing through my ears as he speaks.

 

“Mimi bro sijanunua ngotha nikiwa Poly. Unanunua ngotha au unataka kula? Nili-survive na mbili for two years” says the vocal media personality.

 

While disclosing his media, political and general life, outwardly, a polished demeanour and vocal calm projection, are the first qualities you notice when you meet Bonnie Musambi.

Popularly Bonnie Mtall, bred in Kitui County, in a vicinity full of teachers but broke the teaching limitations in his genealogy.

 

He wished to pursue journalism as a profession but family astounding values and perception from his late father, never kissed his dream.

 

The chalk master insisted he go and pursue teaching, a profession he loathed. The father’s abhorrent, sparked suicide thoughts in his frontal lobe, moving him away from home and start minial jobs.

 

” I used to wash toilets at Embu. Fetching 10k as salary” he discloses in an exclusive interview with media personality, Billy Miya.

 

Media Profession

After juggling between washing toilets and other money fetching jobs, the former KBC Channel 1 anchor joined Mombasa Polytechnic to pursue his dream career.

 

While at Mombasa Polytechnic, his charisma and passion, saw him sojourning from one skill to another, till he got attachment at Baraka FM.

 

The attachment however was unpayable, Bonnie says, he was a choir trainer while at Mombasa. He used to be paid Ksh 300 per week. Life was never easy for him until, luck knocked at his door.

 

The Sang’u FM CEO say, he got a job at KBC and his first salary, Ksh 17,000 as a radio presentor. Further, he says, to join TV screens, was the least thing he thought of in his career.

 

His in-depth love rested on the radio. He gives accolades to the pressure from friends who pushed him to go on tv.

As things always align themselves, his seventh interview came with a breakthrough. He rejoiced for a new breakthrough.

 

Nilienda kwa nyumba nikiwa nimeshikilia machozi. Nikajaribu kumshukuru Mungu nikaona haitoshi. Nikavua nguo zote nikatupa na nikamwambia Mungu, nimekuja vile uliniumba.

 

“Sasa nione vizuri na upokee hizi shukrani. Hii barua umenipa Mungu, yaani upokee utukufu wote.” He narrates.

 

In media, Bonnie could gel through all media dimensions, juggling between journalism and business. He anchored news at KBC Channel 1 and hosted Zinga la Asubuhi on KBC Radio Taifa.

 

Before exiting KBC and making an entrance into politics, he worked for KBC, for 13 years. To him, challenges were there ranging from incitement but he say, God was always with him.

Marriage

To meet his wife, the entrepreneur says, the same guy who gave him attachment, is the one who gave him a wife.

 

He got his wife Betty Musambi who’s a radio presenter at Sang’u FM when he had been slapped with an international heartbreak and his wife, from a regional heartbreak. Broken souls met.

 

“Nilikuwa nimetoka kwa international heartbreak. Nilikuwa nimetoka ku-date a Congolese. Yangu ilikuwa international yake regional. So, tukakutana two broken hearts” he reveals.

 

Everything went on well despite normal challenges. On his wedding day which had been planned to be in Nairobi, it never happened.

 

“My international ex akawa amei-threaten na akatafuta wanawake sita, wakiwa na watoto sita waje kwenye harusi na waseme ni watoto wangu” he discloses the awful plan

 

As the case, he went to the village back in Kitui, where he wedded his brilliant, humble, curvaceous, and generally, pulchritudinous damsel.

 

Marriage and Resolutions To Challenges

 

He says, in his house it’s a must to pray with his wife daily in the morning and in the evening, with the whole of the family.

 

“We must pray together everyday with my wife in the morning. Jioni, we must pray together with my kids and every other. Whether mmekosana or not, mtaomba.” He reveals his secret in the glowing marriage.

Controversially, he says we’ve got situations he has slept in lodging due to family issues.

 

Nimelala kwa lodging mara kama sita saba. Mara ya mwisho kulala lodging ilikuwa 2020 ama 2021 na nika-shoot video nionyeshe hakuna mtu mwingine” he states.

 

Politics And Entrepreneurship
Mr Musambi joined politics in 2018 after the death of his brother. His motive came from the mass thus joining politics.

 

He vied for member of parliament in his home constituency, Kitui Central in 2022 though, never won the election. He says, it was lack of experience but he’ll come back.

 

Has he ever dated Charity Ngilu? Bonnie says; “I’ve never dated Charity Ngilu but we’re friends. Our friendship ain’t for money. The only amount of money I got from Ngilu is 50k” he clears the air.

 

Concerning entrepreneurship, he look forward to be the next SK Macharia; the RMS boss. ” My vision is to be another SK. Macharia” he says.

 

To establish his radio, Bonnie says he spent KES 50 Million to install Sang’u FM. Further he says, he’s looking forward to open a Dholuo Radio and also promises to be in Ruto’s government.

 

To young journalist, he says, “it is possible. Inawezekana. Lakini lazma uvumilie ndipo uunde history. Vumilia ujenge history.
