KCSE 2016 Results Deserve To Be Written On A Stone Tablet!
KCSE 2016 Results were a results like no other. It was a year that recorded a sharp drop as only 141 Candidates managed to get the admired A plain grade from the usual thousands in the previous and succeeding years.
It was a year where according to the then Education CS Fred Matiang’i, strict regulations were put in place hence no case of exam irregularity was registered or detected.
“We have been strict in the manner in which we have marked this exam, this time there was no cheating and monkey business,” the no nonsense CS said during results release.
With a statistic of 15.4 percent amounting to 88,929 out of the 577,079 students scoring the University cut mark of C+ and above, the results undoubtedly made history after a long period of many schools and students flaunting numerous As across the country and recording a huge number of students attaining University cut off points.
For example, in the previous year,2015, one school could boast of over 200 straight As but in 2016, the 141 As had to be divided by schools across the country. Getting two or more As was sheer luck.
“Some schools last year scored more than hundred As, this year they have only 2!” the then CS added.
As it stands, Fred Matiang’i boasts of putting fruitful efforts and thoughts in curbing the big menace of students and schools cheating in KCSE exams which has helped the education sector moving forward.
Yes, all results are authentic but 2016 results were an exception: they made history after a long while and therefore they deserve to be written somewhere likened to the Holy Book’s stone tablet just to be seen, remembered by us and generations to come.
