A Soldier Beats Up Man To Death Over A Woman

A manhunt has been launched by the police over a soldier who beat up his wife’s honey licker to death.

A UPDF (Uganda People’s Defence Force) soldier identified as Walter Opito was on Saturday allegedly assaulted Patrick Ogwang to death in Akwayo Village, Alyecjuk Parish, Agwata sub-county in Dokolo District, by the help of neighbours.

The soldier who came from work abruptly, found Patrick Ogwang having sex with his wife in their bedroom, something that made him alert the civilians that aided him to cause war mayhem.

Confirming the occurrence, SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, the North Kyoga regional police spokesperson in a press statement on Monday said Ogwang was found having sex with the soldier’s wife something that provoked rough beatings at the scene.

“Our territorial police in Dokolo District are hunting for Opito Walter, Adoko Toolit, Ogwang Abel and others for allegedly assaulting to death Patrick Ogwang and injuring Dina Akello,” Mr Okema stated.

Upon beatings, the regional spokesperson also states that, the victims were rushed to a nearby hospital where Ogwang later died while on treatment.

“They were rushed to a nearby health facility where Ogwang died the following day on Sunday and the woman was rushed to Dokolo Health Center IV for treatment,” he added.

Mr Okema however, has cautioned wives to distance themselves from extramarital affairs when their husbands are working far away from home.
