Diamond Platnumz Breaks Silence On Mbosso’s Departure From Wasafi Records
Celebrated Tanzanian artist Diamond Platnumz has finally addressed Mbosso Khan’s departure from his record label, Wasafi Records to work as independent artist.
Taking to Instagram, Diamond confirmed that his discussions with Mbosso had been productive and added that more details would follow.
Diamond also urged his fans to disregard any stories circulating about the matter until he and the Hodari hitmaker issued an official statement together.

“Tumekua na mazungumzo mazuri na Mbosso. Namna ya kuanza rasmi sasa kusimamia kazi zake na tumekamilisha vizuri jambo letu vizuri sana.
” Tafadhali story yoyote inayozungumzwa kuhusu jambo hili la Mbosso naomba zipuuzwe mpaka mimi binafsi na Mbosso tutapotoa tamko rasmi,” he wrote.
The statement comes amid growing speculation about Mbosso’s future after rumours of his exit from Wasafi emerged. While neither party has given full details, Diamond’s message reassures fans that the transition is amicable and well-planned.

On January 30, 2025, Diamond’s close friend, Baba Levo announced that the artist had granted Mbosso permission to leave Wasafi. He also revealed that the label plans to sign nine new artists.
Mbosso has been a key artist under Wasafi Records, gaining widespread recognition during his time with the label. He has released hit songs such as Tamu, Maajab, Nadekezwa, Ova and many more.
