When I found out that my child has cerebral palsy, I was very hurt, and most importantly, I thought about how my child’s future will be. I was refusing to say no my baby is healthy.

Many challenges came when I swore that I would never give birth again, but God raised people to help and carry us, meaning my father and mother, and this gave me the strength to carry on; I even got other children, Deborah and Divine,” She stated.

Rehema Simfukwe also revealed that she composed the song Chanzo after she came to terms with her daughter’s health condition.

“I wrote the song Chanzo after I learned that my firstborn would not be like other children. As a mother, it was difficult for me to accept,” she revealed.

Despite the struggle and parental challenges; the singer’s husband stood with her in taking care of the child.

“When God takes you through a difficult situation or when He gives you a challenging child, man, don’t run away from the family. Make sure you bond with your partner and steam together.” Singer’s husband advised.

Tracing the parental challenges in raising children with incurable ailments, Rehema built and launched a center named Dorcas Home Care, for children with Cerebral Palsy.
