Alma Mutheu said she was tired of paying bills for almost two years without the support of Gift. “It gets to a certain point where as a woman unachoka kufanya kila kitu. It is fine, not everyone is able but you can’t stay with a person for a very long time like two years, you are still providing as a woman,” Alma said.
Alma added that in their early years of dating, Gift used to provide but he reached a time and stopped. She alleged he even moved out of his house to live with her.
“Unalala kwa kitanda changu na nguo zako ziko kwangu. Am I lying?… Am not complaining and am not saying Gift is a bad person. Gift ni mtu anaezajituma akisukumwa, sisemi kwa ubaya.” She added.

After the interview, a section of social media users criticised Gift for staying in his girlfriend’s house. They alleged men aren’t supposed to live in the where they don’t pay rent.
Following the bash, Oga Obinna requested men to stop bashing Gift and take the situation as a learning arena. “The people who are at the forefront of bashing him are men. ..some are laughing and mocking him but don’t know the context or how it ended there. “ Obinna said
“He was very reserved. He didn’t say a lot of things and most men do that. They don’t say a lot but we’re not saying it’s right or wrong. Some men have moved into the houses of women and some women have moved into men’s houses
“…if you don’t have something to say, just shut your mouth. Let’s take it as a learning curve. Don’t kick a man when he’s down. Don’t laugh at another man when he’s down, learn.” Obinna advised.
