General Ogolla died in a helicopter crash alongside nine other military officials in Marakwet East. His demise news was confirmed by President William Ruto on date 18, April in a briefing convened at statehouse.
“Our motherland has lost one of her most valiant generals, gallant officers, service men and woman. The demise of General Ogolla is a painful loss to me, and certainly, the sorrow we all feel about his passing is shared by all the people of Kenya, and especially the KDF fraternity,” said President Ruto.

His father stated he will be laid to rest at his home in Alego in Siaya county. He revealed that in his will, his son wanted to be buried 72 hours after his death.
The bodies of Gen Ogolla and nine other military officers and servicemen were flown to Nairobi on Thursday night. They were received at the Embakasi Airbase where a prayer service was held before they were taken to Forces Memorial Hospital for preservation.

The burial event will be organized by the state because the General died while in office. Sources stated that the military is working within the short period to ensure a decent send off as they honoured his will instructions.
General Ogolla’s career has spanned for almost 4 decades since joining the military in April 21,1984 . He died at the age of 61 leaving behind his wife Aileen, two children and a grandson.
