Mejja Finally Explains Why He Turned Down Collabo With Diamond Platnumz
Mejja says he turned down Diamond's request for a collabo because of the mode of communication
Mejja, a Kenyan Genge tone singer has unveiled several reasons that made him turn down a collaboration music with Diamond Platnumz.
In an exclusive interview on the Mic Cheque podcast, the celebrated Gengetone singer said he turned down Diamond’s request for a collabo because of the mode of communication and his type of music.Mejja said it was not the sense of pride that made him turn down the offer at the time he had gained momentum and fame through his Utawezana hit but according to him, he was not much into Amapiano.

Besides that, Mejja said there were some kinds of behaviours the management for Diamond showed that never sit well with him.
“Hizi ni story za kitambo na sipendi kuongelelea. Nilikataa kitu fulani ilikuwa inahappen na hiyo crew yao.” He disclosed when he was asked about the collaboration story.
According to Mejja, Diamond Platnumz’s management approached him through Instagram something he depicted as a sign of disrespect because at the time, he was a famous person and every artist that featured him in song, the song hit the country’s media airwaves.

Besides that, Mejja said his love for music has been rooted in Genge tone since he was in High School thus shifting from Genge tone to Amapiano was a way of losing his brand and betrayal of his music specification.
