Burial Date For Mr. Ibu Finally Revealed Weeks After His Death

The family of veteran Nollywood actor John Okafor popularly known as Mr. Ibu has finally revealed his burial date weeks after his death. He passed away on March 4, 2024 while receiving treatment in hospital.
Mr. Ibu will be laid to rest on June 28, 2024. The burial date was released on Saturday by his Elder brother Sunday Okafor, who said that the actor will be accorded a heroic send-off.
In a statement shared by the family, they said that Mr. Ibu will be buried in his home at Amuri, in the Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State in Nigeria.

“The Okafor family in Eziokwe Amuri, Nkanu West LGA in Enugu State wishes to honour the loving memory of our hero and legend John Ikechukwu Okafor who even in death has left a legacy of love, laughter, and liveliness.
We would appreciate your esteemed presence as we lay to rest our son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and in-law on the 28th of June 2024.Kindly join us as we share the best and last moments with our icon,” read part of the statement.
The burial arrangements include a high-profile novelty match on Tuesday, June 25th, followed by Mr Ibu’s Night on Wednesday, June 26th, featuring a candlelight procession and live entertainment.

On June 27th, a Christian Wake-Keep will be held at his compound while the funeral service on June 28th. The burial ceremony concludes on Sunday, June 30th, with a Church Thanksgiving gathering for family members, friends, and well-wishers.
