Two Harambee Stars Players Dropped From National Team After Being Involved In Physical Fight Last Night

Two Harambee Stars players were dropped from the national team squad that travelled today for 4-Nations Tournament in Lilongwe, Malawi. The two are said to have involved in a physical fight that occurred in the Harambee Stars’ camp past midnight few hours before travelling to Malawi.

The two players are said to be winger Eric Johana who plays for Romanian Liga I side UTA Arad and Kenya Police FC Left-back Aboud Omar. The two engaged in a physical altercation with the efforts to contain the situation yielded no fruits forcing the Turkish tactician Engin Firat have no option rather than dropping the duo from the squad.
An insider told Mideyah Digital Sports deskthat the duo got involved in a physical fight in the Harambee Stars’ camp a fight that went out of control as Coach, teammates as well as hotel attendants tried to stop it which had turned chaotic. It is yet to be known the reason behind the duo to fight but unconfirmed reports from the insiders says the two were ‘dead drunk’ during the wee hours’ drama.

Following the dismissal of the two from the squad, AFC Leopards left-back Vincent Mahiga earned a call up to replace Aboud Omar, with Gor Mahia attacking midfielder Shariff Musa, who had been dropped from the final squad, has also been recalled back to the squad to replace Eric Johana. With Engin Firat is set to explain his decision to drop Abud and Johanna in his upcoming press conference.

Harambee Star together with Rising Stars arrived safely in Lilongwe, Malawi ahead of the most anticipated 4-Nations Tournament. Rising Stars U-20 will kick off their campaign against Zimbabwe on Friday 22nd, March at Bingu National stadium. Harambee Stars will open their campaign against hosts Malawi on Saturday 23rd March and will then meet either Zimbabwe or Zambia on Tuesday 26th March.
