With penalties being part of football, they are commonly given as a punishment if one side commits a foul in their 18-yard box by either being tough on their opponent player or committing a handball inside the penalty box. He is one of 10 players, and the only midfielder, to have scored 150 or more goals in the Premier League. However, he has missed 13 penalties in 80 attempts in his football career.

The 2022 world cup winner has missed 27 penalties level with Portugal icon Cristiano Ronaldo in 126 attempts.
